Looking for a single treatment that can address everything like wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture, and even skin elasticity? Microneedling: the medical spa treatment that does it all. We love professional microneedling because it’s:
What is microneedling?
Microneedling, otherwise known as Collagen Induction Therapy, triggers your skin’s repair response. As the needles puncture your skin, they create controlled, pain-free microscopic wounds that your body recognizes as tissue loss. In response, your skin begins producing collagen, elastin, and other essential growth factors to repair the wound. As a result, your skin cells become stronger, healthier and more productive, which translates to a firmer, smoother, more radiant complexion. Our patients regularly seek microneedling treatments at Artemedica because it:
In-office microneedling by licensed and experienced aestheticians
Before your treatment begins, your clinician will first cleanse the area with a gentle cleanser. Once prepped, they will then apply a personalized compounded numbing cream to help ensure a pain-free experience. You may feel some light pressure or prickling sensation, but these should be very minimal at best.
The length of your session will depend on the area being treated, but you can expect most sessions to take 30-45 minutes. In fact, many patients come in during their lunch break.
Recovery after treatment
Following treatment, your skin may become a little pink and sensitive with slight swelling. These side effects should diminish within 12 – 24 hours. You may experience dryness or itchiness in the following days as your body sheds dead skin cells.
Microneedling results
Due to the nature of microneedling, which relies on natural healing and regeneration, results are not immediate. In the short term, skin will appear plumper, pinker and more luminous due to swelling and inflammation. However, because microneedling’s benefits occur when the skin starts to heal after treatment, results get better with time. Multiple sessions spaced out over time can dramatically increase collagen production and improve skin elasticity.
A series of 3 treatments will deliver subtle, but noticeable results. One the other hand, a series of 6 treatments will deliver dramatic results. Better yet, join our monthly facial membership, Elite Facial of the Month Club, for monthly microneedling sessions.
