How the Brella SweatControl Patch Works
The Brella SweatControl patch is an FDA-cleared treatment for excessive underarm sweating using patented Targeted Alkali Thermolysis (TAT) technology. This non-invasive, topical patch features a thin sodium sheet that is applied to your underarms by your clinician.
When the sodium contacts the water in your sweat, it causes a reaction that generates a painless yet effective thermal heat. In only 3 minutes, this highly targeted delivery of heat through TAT therapy weakens overactive sweat glands to significantly reduce sweat production for three to four months.
That’s right – one 3-minute SweatControl Patch application can reduce excessive underarm sweating by up to 50%2 for up to 4 months!

What to Expect: Brella SweatControl at Artemedica
During your initial consultation at either our Santa Rosa or Healdsburg location, your clinician will explain how the Brella Patch works and answer any questions you have. They will also walk you through the treatment process step-by-step, and clearly explain what to expect from your appointment.
On the day of your Brella SweatControl Patch appointment, make sure to arrive with:
The Brella SweatControl Patch is non-invasive, aluminum-free, and can provide long-lasting results in 3 simple steps:
- First, your clinician will carefully inspect both underarms to make sure they are clean and free of any abrasions, redness, or other skin conditions.
- Each underarm will then be treated one at a time. Your clinician will place the SweatControl Patch directly on your underarms for about 3 minutes. You may feel a warm, tingling, or stinging sensation, which means it’s working and is completely normal.
- The Patch will then be removed, and the treatment area will be cleaned. Your clinician will then repeat these steps using a new SweatControl Patch for your other underarm.
After treatment, your clinician will discuss any aftercare recommendations with you and provide a short questionnaire to help you keep track of how your sweat patterns change. You may notice improvement in as little as a few days after your treatment and results that last 3-4 months.
There is no downtime required so you can resume your normal activities immediately after treatment. If you feel any underarm irritation or tenderness, avoid using deodorant or shaving until it resolves, then resume your usual hygiene routine.
