No one likes the look of puffy undereye bags or loose, sagging skin around the nose and mouth. These features make you look older, tired and even stern, which in turn affect your self-esteem. Thankfully, there are many options for those looking to correct these cosmetic concerns. Some patients are more than comfortable turning to more invasive options like eyelid surgery or facelifts. Others find that fillers like Juvéderm or Sculptra are better suited to their cosmetic goals. However, now there’s an option for treating wrinkles and fine lines naturally: plasma-rich platelet (PRP) fillers.
PRP fillers uses the natural healing and regenerative properties of your own body to stimulate new collagen production. PRP injections have long been used in the sports medicine industry to treat joint, ligament and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Recently, however, PRP injections have been found highly effective in reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a component of your blood with a high concentration of your own growth promoting platelets
PRP fillers are perfect for both men and women who want to smooth away signs of aging in delicate areas like under the eyes and around the nose and mouth. We take a small sample of your blood, isolate the PRPs, and inject platelet-rich plasma into your problem areas. This increase the supply of nutrient-rich blood directly to the skin and scalp, increasing collagen and elastin production.
How do PRP fillers work?
There are two key components to platelet-rich plasma and they are both 100% natural and come from your own body: 1) plasma: the liquid part of your blood; 2) platelet: a type of blood cell vital to your body’s healing process and full of growth properties. PRP fillers can help with:

On the day of your appointment, one of our trained clinicians will draw a small amount of your blood—typically from your arm. This blood is then spun in a centrifuge for approximately 10 minutes in order to separate out the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of your blood. Your specific PRP sample is then injected into your face after numbing with a local anesthetic. Treatment generally takes less than an hour.
We also add PRP to the following services as an upgrade:
Recovery after your PRP treatment
PRP fillers require no downtime, similar to having your blood drawn at the hospital. You may feel some discomfort around the injection site once the local anesthetic wears off. Typically, patients experience some minor soreness, redness or bruising. However, this should resolve itself within a few hours.
Due to the nature of PRP fillers, which relies on natural healing and regeneration, results vary based on your overall health and lifestyle. Some patients see results immediately. Others may require multiple treatments in order to achieve smoother, more elastic skin. In order to see optimal results, your treatment provider will provide a personalized treatment plan based on your unique goals. Most clinicians typically suggest a minimum of 2-3 treatments spaced out approximately 2-4 weeks apart.
